Kia EV4 Overview
Kia has just revealed the eagerly awaited EV4, an electric vehicle poised to challenge competitors like the Volkswagen ID.3.
Set to hit the market later this year, the EV4 will fill the gap between Kia’s existing EV3 hatchback and the soon-to-arrive EV5 SUV, which is also gearing up for a European debut.
Positioned primarily as a five-door hatchback in Europe, the EV4 will go head-to-head with notable models such as the Hyundai Kona Electric, Renault Mégane E-Tech, and Mini Aceman.

This variant preserves the same wheelbase while boasting a more aerodynamic rear design that enhances cargo capacity.
Technical Specifications
While concrete technical specifications remain under wraps, the EV4 will leverage Kia’s advanced E-GMP platform, a foundation for the brand’s innovative electric lineup.
Buyers will have the option of choosing between two battery sizes: a 58kWh option or a more robust 81kWh variant.
Furthermore, they can opt for either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, reflecting a commitment to accommodating a range of driving styles.
Kia has high aspirations for the EV4, which is projected to offer a remarkable driving range that surpasses 350 miles.
It promises quick charging capabilities, operating on a 400V electrical system with rapid charging speeds of up to 128kW, matching the features found in both the EV3 and EV5.
Performance and Design
Kia’s push for electrification doesn’t stop with standard models.
Their entire electric vehicle lineup will include performance-oriented GT versions, ensuring that enthusiasts can look forward to a high-performance all-wheel-drive EV4 aimed directly at competing with the Tesla Model 3 Performance.
While the interior design of the EV4 remains somewhat of a secret, glimpses from the 2023 concept suggest an inviting and modern aesthetic.
