Genesis Embraces an Electric Future with Exciting New Models in the UK

Genesis commits to an all-electric lineup in the UK, retiring combustion engines while offering existing inventory until stock depletion, with hybrid models planned for the future.

Genesis is taking a bold step forward by committing to an all-electric lineup in the UK market.

With this decision, the brand is making a clear statement: it is officially retiring all combustion engine models.

Farewell to Combustion Engines

The G70 Shooting Brake and GV70 SUV, alongside the G70 saloon and GV80 SUV, are the latest petrol and diesel variants to bid farewell.

Customers can now purchase these models only from existing inventory, which will be carefully managed to meet demand through the summer.

Jonny Miller, the director of Genesis Motor UK, elaborated on the rationale behind this gradual transition.

Instead of an abrupt halt to combustion engine sales, Genesis wants to give customers the opportunity to acquire these vehicles before they become unavailable.

This customer-centric approach not only enhances satisfaction but also aligns with the brand’s aim to embrace a more sustainable future.

Future Lineup of Electric Models

Once the current stock of traditional vehicles is sold out, the UK will exclusively feature electric models from Genesis.

However, this doesn’t signal a complete end to combustion engines.

The brand has already hinted at exciting plans for hybrid versions in the near future, which will further diversify their eco-friendly offerings.

As we look ahead to 2025, Genesis promises an exciting lineup of electric vehicles.

This includes the upgraded Electrified G80 limousine, boasting improved range and an extended wheelbase, set to launch in April.

Following that, the redesigned Electrified GV70 SUV will emerge in the summer, equipped with enhanced range features and a contemporary look, along with the stylish GV60 crossover.

Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

Moreover, Genesis has teased its ambitious plans for new electric models, including the highly anticipated production version of the GV60 Magma performance EV, expected to make waves in the coming years.

This strategic move underscores Genesis’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, ushering in a promising era in the automotive sector focused on electric mobility.
